Real commodities were everywhere. Access was not.
In 2025, the founders of Barrel Commodities identified a major gap between everyday investors and the global commodities market. Gold, oil, cocoa, and other valuable commodities were being stored, traded, leased, and used by large institutions and businesses, while ordinary people often needed significant capital and specialized infrastructure to participate.

The digital economy was moving fast. The physical economy was still difficult to reach.
